Working with Penny was the most fun I’ve ever had organizing anything. She honored my individuality but also pushed me when I needed it. She paid special attention to finding organizing solutions that I could keep up over the long-term because she spent time getting to know me and why I struggle to keep organized. My space in now stylish, unique AND tidy as opposed to just stylish and unique.

My virtual closet clear out with Penny was really satisfying. I felt pretty overwhelmed by the task and had been putting it off, but going through it with her was super helpful. I even rediscovered a whole bunch of stuff I forgot I owned (oops!) Working via video chat was convenient and safe and it was awesome to not have to be concerned about wearing masks etc. Penny delivered on both tips and sass, and helped me to prioritize what to keep and what to give away without pressure or guilt. She also explained how to store special pieces and gave some great advice around organization. I felt comfortable parting ways with lots of stuff I don't need and I feel so much lighter now! I’m a collector of things and bad habits. I’m also very stubborn. One of my favorite things to “collect” is makeup. I have a LOT and I stash it anywhere I can find space (including kitchen cabinets!). In one of our first sessions Penny helped me find all the hidden bags around the house and when we had a giant pile in the living room, we set out separate bins for lipstick, eye shadow, face products etc. and started sorting. Even after adding the 50th brand new red lipstick into the bin, she never judged me or made me feel bad about my collection. She expertly navigated my, let’s call it quirkiness. We joked around about having a different shade for every day for months. She was kind and understanding while talking me through throwing out expired and dirty makeup when I was having a hard time letting go. She took the time to ask me about why I felt the need to hold on to things and where that came from, which helped me understand my attachment to things better. Penny never pressured me into getting rid of anything, but when she suggested I start a pile of my “not-so-favorites” to donate to an LGBTQ shelter, I was easily able to part with a few bags because I knew it was going to a fantastic cause. We put all of the organized bins into a rolly cart that I can pull out anytime and enjoy my collection instead of being overwhelmed by it.

Shopping was always a chore before I met Penny. With her enthusiasm and help I’ve learned so much about clothing fit and how to dress for my body. Without her expert guidance and positive encouraging I would still be in boring jeans and flannels. You know it’s bad when one of the middle schoolers you teach says “Do you wear that every Wednesday?” I was stuck in a rut style-wise, wearing the same 5-6 outfits on rotation, and Penny helped be break out of it. I cannot recommend Penny’s wardrobe styling services enough! Penny takes a wonderfully holistic approach to style. It’s not just about the product, but the process. She listens to how you want to look and feel, then she helps you get there. Penny styled over twenty unique and fun outfits with what she found in my closet. She gave me both a playbook for putting together an outfit and permission to break rules and use pieces in unconventional ways. I have so many “special occasion” items that rarely saw the light of day that can now be incorporated into daily wear. I used to have anxiety getting dressed because I felt so limited and what I ended up wearing felt just “fine.” Since Penny helped me, I actually have fun putting outfits together and it feels good to finally be using items from the back of my closet.
